This Girl

 Sometimes I look at her and wonder, "How in the world are you ONE?"  She blows us away all the time with her zest for life and cute babbling.  She is on the brink of taking her first steps, and seeing how excited she gets by "walking" around with my help just fills my heart up like I didn't know possible.  I rarely remember to grab the camera while we are playing, but this time I did.  So, if you are looking for us this summer, we will be in the yard giving this Radio Flyer the workout of its life (thanks Grandma Deb and Grandpa Hap)!

The "Easy Hike" That Turned Into An Adventure

Well, we usually do this hike in the snow, and it is a great one.  Not too hilly, you get to a pretty view, and Abe gets a killer workout.  This time we decided to take my mom and brother out to show them, and thought it would be a breeze.  Of course it wouldn't be too much more to add a lap around the lake (that we had never done before), right?  WRONG.  It was one of those "I took the path less traveled, and it made all the difference," or however that quote goes.  It was incredibly beautiful.  We found a spot by a stream to sit down and have our lunch... and fifteen minutes later we were rolling up our pants to wade across a freezing stream.  It was right about then that we lost the trail completely, but just kept going.  We were stumbling and cracking up all the way.  I thought Alma was going to fire us all at one point, but she was in good spirits most of the time.  I'm happy we all survived to tell the tale, HA.  Good times, even better company.

Beach Babes

When Amanda asked Lily what she wanted to do for her 6th birthday, she said she wanted to come to the island to see baby Alma.  I was super touched!  It was a beautiful day, so we headed out to the beach to catch some rays, get some sand in our toes, and celebrate a sweet little birthday girl.  Needless to say, we had to tear them away at the end.  We love these guys, I swear these girls are growing right before our eyes.  Our meet-ups are always much needed mom and daughter time.
